MHK Designer April Inspiration

Hi Friends!

Today with MHKDesigns' DT inspiration using Stiched Sunflower digi stampset with Sunflower sampler papers. Must say, am addicted to this set of digi papers :)

This digi stampset is with such lovely sentiments with the sunflower image.

I love chevron pps and by now you would be aware of it too :)
Matted the sentiment using yellow and green chevron pps and matted this on to the brown chevron pp. Wanted the sentiment to be focal point this time.

Colored the sunflowers by Zig clean colorbrush pens and fussy cut it. I love heat embossing and so to make these flower as embellies, I heat embossed those flowers using UTEE clear Ep. At this stage, it just mimics the Sospeso flowers :) Watercolored and fussy cut few leaves and added these below the sentiment frame using foam adhesives and completed the card by matting it on to a white A2 cardbase.

Thank you for stopping by!

MHK April/May Challenge

Today at MHK designs, we have monthly challenge with photo/color inspiration to play along and to win some beautiful digi image and designer papers. MHK Designs Team is showcasing few digi sets from MHK Designs Etsy shop for the inspiration. Do hop into blog to get inspired and play along the challenge.

This month's inspiration:

My take on this:

Took A6 white cardbase and to it matted a black cs and Party Hardy -Digipaper in red.

Digi image and sentiment  are from the stampset "Stencil in the roses"

The image panel is matted with a black cs and mounted on the cardbase.

The image is precolored. The leaves and main large rose is popped using 2 fussy cut layers using foam adhesives. The top layer of rose flower edges were distressed using aged mahogany DI and the leaves using Peeled paint DI. Distressed the top panel using tumbled glass DI.

Black satin ribbon added to the card and top on it the sentiment banner added.
Used 2 black rhinestones as accents.

MHK New Release - Perfect Poppies

Hey Hi!

Am excited to welcome you to the April 2016 MHK Designs release. We have some really fun sets to check over the next few days, as well as chances to win either one of the sets OR all of them!

Perfect poppies is the focus design for today:

My take on this design

Took A2 sized vanilla cardstock as base. The poppies are colored using Zig clean color brush pens. Fussy cut and heat embossed using UTEE clear to make it glossy and to use as embellishment.

I just took sentiment from same digi set and framed using Party hardy - Red Houndstooth digi paper (its a must have paper pad with various lovely collection). You are gonna see me using this paper often here after :)

I love this sentiment a lot and culdn't resist myself and so was keeping it as my wallpaper/screensaver, Watsapp DP from the day i have done this card :)

Above pic shows the close up of the pretty flowers. Loved coloring it...Its so rich and vibrant as it looks here and the red color just pops the ivory base cs.

These flowers are added using foam adhesives at different heights to show some depth between the flowers.

Hey Hi! Am excited to welcome you to the April 2016 MHK Designs release. We have some really fun sets to check over over the next few days, as well as chances to win either one of the sets OR all of them!

Stitched sunflower is the focus design today :)

My take on this

I have diecut the design in a oval scallop and sponged Tumbled glass DI. Colored the sunflower using Zigclean color brush pens. Then matted this on the Spellbinder oval florals white diecut.

Then further matted this on Sunflower sampler- Digi paper - Yellow chevron. (Must say this digi paper, is such a lovely collection. Never Miss it!)

The front panel is matted on a lightt green A2 cardbase, with a yellow polka dot ribbon with sentiment banner topping on it. The sentiment banner is sponged with peepled paint DI on edges.

Celebrate Life -Mixed Media Canvas

Hey Hi Friends!

Mixed media canvas tutorial ...This i have shared in Mudra blog as CT inspiration few days before and again blogging here for my blog followers :)

(***This canvas is not initially intended for a pictorial, so kindly bear poor quality pics. Complied to make with my WIP pics taken on phone cam ***)

  • 5x7" primed canvas is taken (This is a good choice sizewise. Lesser/greater than this size would be bit tough to handle for a newbie)
  • This MM canvas is completely mists-free project ;) :) means no mists/sprays are used in the process of making it.
  • Apply Wendy Veicchi Embossing paste (Translucent) in the canvas using palette knife leaving a central portion. This creates a frosty spikes, when pouncing against the surface. It dries up fast, so avoid using heat gun.

  • Translucent Emb.Paste has a natural sheen and shine, so after drying it gives such nice texturous sheen all over.
  • Meanwhile take 2 ply facial tissues (or those without textures) and stamp Vintagy fluorish stamps using archival black ink.

  • After canvas completely dried, similar to decoupage techniques, put these stamped facial tissues over canvas sides, using Ranger -multimatte medium. (This acts as seal, glue, and as image transfer also). Allow it to air dry.

  • Using Ranger-multi matte medium, stick a cheesecloth to the central portion of the canvas. Let it air dry. (*Refer pic above)
  • Take metallic gelatos of colors - Teal, Dark blue and apply on those frosty spikes of the Emb.paste. It just magically slides in the grooves. If needed, slightly mist your fingers with water and smooth it over the spiky textures.
  • The colors magically blends as such.
  • Prima Art alchemy paint-Steampunk mixed with Emb.paste and stenciled out, using TCW microbial in a circular fashion, on the central portion of canvas leaving the cheesecloth area.
  • Meanwhile stamp the Large butterfly from Butterfly flutters stamp set, using Archival ink and color it using metallic gelatos - Purple, Dark blue, Pink. And heat emboss it, using Ranger UTEE clear embossing powder twice. This gives a beautiful embellishment kind - Butterfly to use as focal element :)

  • Take any resin embellishment  -Square/rectangle/circle (or make one using moulds/chipboard), mine is a square resin, colored randomly using Prima Art alchemy -Rose gold opal magic and glued it down on Cheesecloth using foam adhesive and hotglue gun.
  • Add 2 crisscrossed piece of cheesecloth on resin embellishment using Ranger mm medium and also around resin embellishment area and pour generously Prima mini art stones.
  • And after drying, sponge on Rose gold art alchemy paint randomly on it and apply even on the sides of the canvas.

  • Glue down Embossed butterfly on the resin using hotglue gun.
  • "Celebrate life" are taken from Brushed sentiments stampset. Stamped using Black archival ink, sponged using purple gelatos and rose gold Prima art alchemy. Fussy cut it and Heat emboss those using UTEE clear Embossing powder and make some embossed glossy sentiments :)
  • Sentiment is popped using foam adhesives.

Hope you liked this simple MM canvas.
